The narrative centers around Kim Ram Woo, portrayed by Gong Myung, who assumes the role of the Grim Reaper. He appears before his childhood friend, Jung Hee Wan, played by Kim Min Ha. Hee Wan, leading a mundane life at the age of 24, encounters Ram Woo just a week before her impending demise.

Jung Hee Wan and Kim Ram Woo set off on a journey to fulfill Hee Wan’s bucket list, unravel hidden truths, and delve into the essence of life. Their friendship traces back to an April Fools’ Day prank where they amusingly swapped names.

Jung Gun Joo, recognized for his roles in “Extraordinary You” and “The Secret Romantic Guesthouse,” takes on the character of Lee Hong Seok, Kim Ram Woo’s close friend and an enthusiastic high school student. Joining the cast as Yoon Tae Kyung, Hee Wan’s lively best friend, is rookie actress Oh Woo Ri.

In the role of Jung Il Beom, Hee Wan’s father managing a small restaurant and raising his two daughters independently, veteran actor Ko Chang Seok has been cast. The character of Kim Ram Woo’s mother, Kim Jung Sook, who sacrificed her passion for art for her son’s sake, will be portrayed by acclaimed actress Seo Young Hee.

“A Week Before I Die” marks CJ ENM’s film business division’s first OTT series, exclusively planned and produced for TVING. Directed by Roh Deok, renowned for previous works like “Glitch,” and led by director Choi Ha Na, the series features a screenplay by writers Song Hyun Joo and Jang In Jeong.

Scheduled for release in 2025, “A Week Before I Die” promises a distinctive blend of fantasy and romance, providing viewers with an eagerly anticipated viewing experience.
